Anyone doing business in Taiwan is liable to quickly run into the technology research and development institution Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). Founded in 1973, ITRI has played a vital role in transforming Taiwan’s industries from labor-intensive into innovation-driven. Over the years, ITRI has incubated over 270 innovative companies, including well-known names such as UMC and TSMC.
MUSA Trademark customer DFON Biomedical Technology is the first spinoff company from ITRI focusing on high-tech skincare as its main axis.
The DFON team is composed of biotech, formula and materials experts as well as dermatologists. Their material technology, MMpH+, was originally developed as a drug delivery wrapping for cancer drugs but it turned out it can be used as an anti-aging technology that can fundamentally solve the main causes of skin aging and slow the loss of collagen and elastin fibers.
I met the CEO of MUSA trademark Jessie Chou at an event and after the first meeting I can feel Jessie’s professionalism and sincerity. At the time, we were a startup company and still exploring in the many process, Jessie was very objective and provide us the suggestion on how and where to register our trademark which will fit our business plan. So with the heart of giving it a try, we hand over our trademark to MUSA and the applications went well and successfully obtained trademark registration. I believe trust is the beginning of all cooperation. Knowing that she will try her best to help us solve related problems, the follow-up trademarks and international brand is naturally handed over to Jessie, and she can always achieve the task.
says Joshua Lai, General manager of DFON Biomedical Technology
DFON’s first commercial brand ”AMELIORAGE” obtained EU cosmetic certification and launched successfully in France in 2018 and is now step by step rolling out in EU countries and MUSA trademark is very honored to assist during the process from conducting the trademark search to find the most feasible trademark, how to apply, where to apply and even how the trademark should be put on the packaging.
At the first meeting with DFON Biomedical, MUSA Trademark’s team was fascinated by the product quality and has been enthusiastic users ever since. To support DFON’s expansion, MUSA Trademark worked closely with DFON to help them set up a complete trademark cover protection in Taiwan, the EU, and the US.
MUSA Trademark is very honored to help a Taiwanese cosmetics startup to launch their product abroad under the safe protection of trademark registrations while demonstrating the R&D capabilities and international competitiveness of Taiwan’s cosmetics and skincare products.
